What Does Your Dream Job Look Like?

I never thought I’d say this again but I got a new job! But it’s not what you think…

Leaving The Corporate World

When I left my previous position as a Systems Engineer, I was working at a large corporation in an industry that I didn’t care for. The growth potential was limited, and the work I did at that job didn’t translate to any useful skills that I could use on my own businesses. I would often look at my older coworkers and dread the thought of being like them when I became their age.

I thought that working at a company meant that you needed to sacrifice the majority of your day for a paycheck. That’s not what I wanted in my life.

So when the work-project completed in June of this year, I decided it was time for me to branch off and try my best at becoming a full-time real estate investor.

There’s Never A Right Time To Say Good-Bye

They say that it’s never the right time to leave your job and I agree. I was still working on a rehab project and had to finance the construction and holding costs. Quitting my job at that moment was like throwing away my oxygen tank when I was already at the bottom of the sea.

For months, I’ve been focusing on turning my project around and I finally have it up and ready as an Airbnb listing! During that time, I was continuously focusing on producing great content for my podcast and videos.

But there was always something that was bugging me at the back of my head…

How could I monetize my platforms without being sleazy? What could I do to create massive value for my audience?

How To Monetize?

Who are my listeners, and what do they actually want? I didn’t have anything to sell, and I was wary of aligning myself with shady organizations.

And then it hit me…

My listeners are (or aspiring) real estate investors! And real estate investors will eventually need financing for their deals!

At the time, I felt sad that I wasn’t affiliated with any lending organizations because it would be a perfect match! I started looking into companies I could reach out to and even considered becoming a mortgage broker.

Working With Conventus

At the same time, one of my friends (shout-outs to Brenda) had the same idea and pitched it to her boss to have me on board as a lead generator for their company.

It was such an incredible idea! I use Conventus Lending for all of my hard money needs. Not only do they have amazing rates and packages, they are an incredible team to work with! I’ve worked with other hard money lenders in the past and the experience varies from mediocre service to down-right nightmares. In fact, working with one bad hard money lender was such an awful experience that I started getting me stomach pains from all the stress!

Working with Conventus will give me a reason to continue producing great content for my listeners and gives me a HUGE oxygen tank to keep me afloat while I build up the business. It also gives me a budget to hire out some of the work to make the content even better next year.

Excited For 2020!

I’m super excited to work with the team, it’s 100% congruent with what I was doing…except now I even more motivated to work harder than before!

Thank you for reading this far and being a part of the EverythingREI family, and remember, if you need financing for your next real estate investment project, contact me to get $1000 off of your processing fee.
