Best Business Podcasts in 2020 for Real Estate Entrepreneurs

Podcasts are one of the most amazing inventions ever created by mankind! They make you smarter, wiser and even savvier. They enrich your knowledge and introduce you to various concepts and perspectives. And the catch? It all takes an open ear and mind to make the most out of them. If you’re someone open to learning new things, here are some of the best business podcasts in 2020. They are also my personal favorites! Try listening to them in your daily commute, work-out, and driving sessions. They’ll surely unleash the real estate investor genius in you!

1. Everything Real Estate Investing Show with Sean Pan

The Everything Real Estate Investing show with Sean Pan is so far the best real estate podcast show for me. Why? Because I host it! Kidding aside, I listen to my show the most. That’s because I record, edit, and listen to it again; even after it’s published just to see if the quality is up to par. It’s a product of hard work, experience, and research. I scrutinize all the topics, materials and guests, to add value to all my listeners and subscribers.

Another great thing about the Everything Real Estate Investing Show is that it is something every investor in the Bay Area can relate to. My show addresses specific real estate investment concerns that apply to the Bay Area alone, unlike other shows which tackle general topics all over America. Listeners get to learn how real estate investing works in the Bay Area and obtain some valuable insider tips in doing deals in one of the most expensive markets in the world.

For a more in-depth guide on how real estate investment works in the Bay Area, you could also grab a copy of the Ultimate Bay Area Investing Handbook for free.

2. Apartment Building Investing Podcast with Michael Blank

Apartment Building Investing is all about multi-family syndications hosted by Michael Blank, a multi-family syndicator himself. This real estate podcast is good because it speaks about the rules, laws, structures and everything you need to know about multi-family syndications.

While investing in multi-family units often involves more educated investors because of its complexity, Michael Blank’s Apartment Building Investing podcast breaks down the complexity of multi-family syndications into bite-size pieces for more informed investing decisions.

3. Old Capital Podcast

Old Capital is a real estate investing podcast by a Texas-based lending firm that revolves around multi-family syndications through commercial loans. Just like my show, two episodes of this podcast are also released every week.

One is the casual interview with a real estate professional and the other is called Ask Mike Mondays, a 15 to 20-minute question and answer portion of someone who used to work for Old Capital but is now a fulltime and successful multi-family syndicator himself.

4. Bigger Pockets Podcast

Bigger Pockets is a great starter podcast for newcomers because all the concepts and theories here are explained as if it’s the first time you’re hearing all of it. Watching the first 200 episodes alone will already help you get comfortable with real estate investing terminologies and familiarize yourself with how things are done.

The downside, however, is that Bigger Pockets mostly cater to the mid-west states which comprise of cheaper single-family homes, where cash flow is extremely high, which is not the case in the Bay Area.

5. Business Wars by Wondery

The Business Wars by Wondery is like a drama series disguised as a podcast show with a little twist. Each “war” is composed of approximately six episodes and revolves around two businesses with almost the same nature. The show tells stories of well-known companies and organizations—the challenges they encountered, how they prevailed amidst all adversities and what lies ahead for them in the future.

Netflix vs Blockbuster”, “WWF vs WCW”, and the “Cereal” Wars are just three of my favorite episodes from this podcast. The Business Wars podcast can also be both entertaining and educational in that it introduces its listeners to unusual terminologies including pro-wrestling jargon the listeners never knew about until the show.

6.How I Built This with Guy Raz

How I Built This by the National Public Radio (NPR) is a show hosted by Guy Raz. This podcast features a series of autobiographies that highlights the best parts of the journey of famous entrepreneurs and what they did to become a success instead of a failure.

How I Built This by NPR will take you to a different light of things. Here, you’ll get to learn the kind of mindset that successful people have during critical points in their lives. Plus, this uplifting podcast spares you from reading those fat autobiography books. It already skips the trivial details and gets to the important parts of an autobiography immediately.

7. London Real

London Real is hosted by Brian Rose who used to work as a stockbroker in New York but is now based in London. The show is similar to that of Joe Rogan or Tim Ferriss in that Brian Rose also brings in high performer celebrities and big businessmen as his guests.

What I like most about London real is the way guests share about things you can do to make your life better instead of simply telling their life stories as in the How I Built This show with Guy Raz. Another fascinating thing about London Real is the fact that the whole thing is set in London and yet Americans seem like flying to the UK just to be guests on the show.

Conclusion

Podcasts are good food for the brain. But, too much of it can also be overwhelming. The list of the best business podcasts in 2020 is endless. At times, you’ll feel that you have been listening to the same old thing over again.  A piece of advice for you—Just take one baby step at a time. Diversify the menu if you must.  Always look for the relevance of the podcasts in your lives. Most importantly, do not be afraid to try new things and never ever stop exploring.
